Are the questions you find online real?
Made-up questions circulate ahead of the test, and both the press and UHR have warned about it. Nobody outside UHR has the real test questions — but that doesn't make all practice material worthless.
How many correct answers do you need to pass the citizenship test?
The short answer: nobody knows. UHR has not published a pass mark, and it will be decided after the first test round. Yet several apps and sites quote exact percentages.
When is the next citizenship test date?
The pilot test on 15 August 2026 is fully booked and free of charge. UHR has not yet published dates for the ordinary, fee-based test rounds.
How much does the citizenship test cost?
The test fee is SEK 2,000, but it is not charged until tests held in 2027. Add the citizenship application fee and the total lands at around SEK 4,900.
Who doesn't have to take the citizenship test?
Many people never need to take the test. The knowledge requirement can be met with passed SFI, upper secondary or adult education grades, a university degree, or Tisus — and some groups are fully exempt.

How we keep the guides current
Every guide carries a publish date and a last-updated date at the top. When UHR or Migrationsverket publishes something new, we update the text and the date rather than letting the page go quietly out of date.
