About us and how we work

Sverigeprovet is an independent study aid for the Swedish citizenship test, built by JBA Nordic. We are not an authority, and we are not affiliated with UHR, Skolverket, or Migrationsverket. The official test, the official study material, and every decision about your citizenship are handled by them, not by us.

This page exists so you can judge for yourself whether what we write is worth trusting.

What it’s all based on

A single material: Sverige i fokus, published by UHR and Skolverket. It’s free, it’s public, and it’s 13 chapters across just over 40 pages. Everything that can come up on the test is in there.

We have no questions from the real test and don’t claim to. The test questions are not public, and you should be skeptical of anyone who implies otherwise.

How the questions are made

The workflow is documented and can be described briefly:

1. The source is locked. The material is frozen and hashed, so we know exactly which version every question is written against.
2. Claims are extracted. Every testable sentence in the material becomes its own claim, with a verbatim excerpt and the page it’s on. That came to 725 claims.
3. Questions are written. One question per claim, phrased in our own words — we don’t reproduce the material’s wording.
4. Blind review. The reviewer gets the question and answer options but not the correct answer, and has to solve it from the chapter text alone. What the review caught wasn’t factual errors but 62 questions that could be guessed from the phrasing, and those were rewritten.
5. Automated checks on every build. Among other things, that answers are evenly distributed across the options, that no questions are duplicates, and that every question still points to a valid page in the material.

The result is 813 questions, and every question links to a chapter and page. That’s the whole point: you should be able to look up the answer in the original instead of trusting us.

What we don’t claim

This is at least as important as the above.

• We don’t state a pass mark. UHR hasn’t published one — it will be decided after the first test round. Sites and apps that quote an exact figure have no published source for it.
• No lawyer, subject expert, or teacher has certified the question bank. The questions are written and reviewed by us.
• The translations are not reviewed by native speakers. The site is available in seven languages, but Swedish is the original. In case of any discrepancy, the Swedish version applies. That’s also stated at the top of every translated page.
• We don’t give advice on individual cases. If you need to know whether you specifically have to take the test, that’s a question for Migrationsverket.

Where the numbers come from

Figures on fees, dates, and rules in our guides are drawn from primary sources, named in each article:

• Förordning (2026:451) om medborgarskapsprov for the SEK 2,000 test fee
• Migrationsverket for the application fee and who’s covered by the knowledge requirement
• UHR for the test format, registration, and the study material

Where something hasn’t been published, we say so instead of guessing. Pages are marked with when they were last changed.

If something is wrong

If you find a factual error, we want to know. Use Report a problem in the footer — describe which question or page it concerns if you can, so it’s faster to fix.

We’d rather correct things openly than pretend a bank of 813 questions is error-free.

Before you book a test, pay a fee, or plan your application: go to uhr.se and migrationsverket.se. They are the only authoritative sources, and they may have updated something we haven’t caught yet.
